Antinori Guado al Tasso Family Estate + Village of Bolgheri | May 27 Livorno (Tuscany)
This excursion includes a visit to the village of Bolgheri with an optional private tasting of Super Tuscan Wines & a cellar tour and wine-paired lunch at Antinori Guado al Tasso Estate.
9a: Meet our private guide and motorcoach for a lovely one hour coastal drive along the Etruscan seaside into the Bolgheri wine region. Our first stop is the quaint village of Bolgheri for a walk, cappuccino and free time to shop for local crafts and spices of Tuscany. For top wine aficionado's, we can arrange a rare opportunity to taste and purchase the more elite Super Tuscans (extra fee): Maseto, Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Solaia. These beautiful wines are considered top cult wines of the world.
Next the Antinori family has invited us to Guado al Tasso, one of the many prestigious flagship Wine Estates of the Antinori family. The Antinori family has been making wine in Italy for 640 years, since 1385! We'll view the lush vineyards, visit the cellar and share a refreshing Rose’ with stories told of the winemaking passion that is exceptional to the 27 generation estates of Marchese Piero Antinori and his daughters, Albiera, Alessia and Allegra. We will share an aperitivo at this lovely countryside wine villa set amidst vineyards and farm, before sitting down to a savory wine-paired Tuscan style lunch. Guado al Tasso estate’s vineyards are set in a geographic amphitheater, encircled by rolling hillsides that faces the Tyrrhenian Sea – with an optimal microclimate with nocturnal breezes to cool down the vines. These climate conditions give the grapes pronounced aromas and a perfect ripening of the berries. A Wine-paired lunch at Osteria al Tasso will satisfy your sophisticated and wildest appetite.
A farm to table wine-paired lunch awaits us at Osteria al Tasso (included) with more wines as Vermentino, il Bruciato and Guado al Tasso. There is an opportunity to buy Antinori wines & olive oil to be shipped back home. After a memorable experience we return to the ship in Livorno around 5pm.
